We regret to inform you that the 4th National Black Canadians Summit, originally scheduled to take place in Montreal in early September 2024, will be postponed to January 31 to February 2, 2025. This difficult decision has been made due to an unforeseen situation involving the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, our co-founder, keynote speaker and friend, who must undergo essential surgery.
We understand that this postponement may cause real inconvenience, as you have mobilized so much, and we sincerely apologize. We would like to assure you that Madame Jean is doing well and is preparing for this operation, which requires calm and rest.
The postponement of the 4th National Black Canadians Summit in February will allow us to launch Black History Month 2025 across the country, giving us the opportunity to reach a wider audience and raise awareness of the devastating impact of racism and the urgency of sustaining our historic movement.
We would like to thank each and every one of you for your understanding and continued support. We’ll also be in touch with stakeholders and ticket holders with options for refunds, changes or ticket transfers.
We hope you’ll be able to join us in February 2025 for a Summit that will be all the more mobilized and inspiring for all our achievements to come.

The Michaëlle Jean Foundation was born from the actions undertaken during the five-year term of the 27th Governor General of Canada, the Right Honorable Michaëlle Jean, who, with her husband Jean-Daniel Lafond, always believed in the importance of investing in youth, art, creativity and innovation for more citizen participation and social change.
